- The title of most championships won by a player goes to the great Pele, who won 3 championships during his career (1958, 1962, 1970)
- Pele also holds the record for youngest goal scorer (17 years, 239 days), and youngest player to score a hat trick
- The record for most goals scored in a tournament goes to Just Fontaine of France, who managed to score an astonishing 13 goals at the 1958 tournament
- The youngest player to ever play in a World Cup tournament match was Norman Whiteside of Northern Ireland at 17 years, 41 days
- However, the youngest player to have played in a World Cup Qualifying match was Souleymane Mamam of Togo who in 2001 played a match at the amazing age of 13 years, 310 days!
